National Integrity Framework
The NIF is a set of rules that all members of our sport need to follow when it comes to their behaviour and conduct in swimming including obligations to report misconduct. In force from 1 January 2024.
Running mixed events on Official Club Nights
An Official Club Night occurs when Clubs upload their results to Swim Central as Official Results.
SNSW has noticed an increasing number of Clubs running (often exclusively) Mixed Events.
Clubs are reminded that per SNSW Rule SW10.1 βAll Individual races must be held as separate gender events.β
As it may sometimes be necessary to combine events (i.e. 800m and 1500m), this is acceptable on the following conditions:
– The Meet Program dictates entries are taken for separate events (i.e. male and female)
– The amalgamation is managed on the day of the event, ensuring the Meet Director, Referee/s, and affected
athletes and coaches are all in agreeance.
– There is one spare (empty) lane between the male and female swimmers (this would need to be managed
manually through the Meet Manager software).
Therefore, Clubs running Official Club nights must have those events, which are to be uploaded to Swim Central, as separate gender events.
